Roadmap

Plan and prioritize website improvement initiatives with RICE scoring and multiple views.

The Roadmap in Evergreen helps you turn audit findings and analytics insights into a prioritized plan of action. Create initiatives, score them with RICE, organize them on a kanban board, and link everything back to your objectives.

Scope Levels

Initiatives can be managed at three levels:

  • Project — work tied to a specific website or property
  • Team — cross-project work owned by a team
  • Organization — company-wide strategic priorities

Navigate to Roadmap from whichever context you're working in — the sidebar adapts to show the appropriate scope.

How It Works

When Evergreen surfaces issues through crawls and audits — broken links, thin content, missing metadata, performance regressions — you can create roadmap initiatives to address them. Each initiative tracks the work from proposal through completion.

Key Features

  • Initiative management — Create, edit, and track improvement initiatives
  • RICE scoring — Prioritize objectively using Reach, Impact, Confidence, and Effort
  • Kanban board — Visualize initiative status across your workflow
  • Priority view — See initiatives ranked by RICE score
  • Objective linking — Connect initiatives to objectives and key results
  • Multi-level scoping — Plan at the project, organization, or team level
  • Rich descriptions — Document scope, criteria, and notes with rich text
  • Page linking — Associate specific URLs with an initiative

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to the Roadmap section in your project, organization, or team
  2. Click Add Initiative to create your first initiative
  3. Give it a title, description, and initial status
  4. Optionally add RICE scores and link to objectives
  5. Use the kanban or priority view to organize your work

Initiative Statuses

Initiatives move through a seven-stage workflow:

StatusMeaning
ProposedIdea has been captured but not yet evaluated
ReadyEvaluated and ready to begin work
ImplementationActive development or content work underway
TestingWork is complete and being verified
CompletedInitiative has been finished and verified
BlockedCannot proceed due to a dependency or issue
On HoldPaused intentionally, may resume later

Aggregated Views

Team and organization roadmap views combine initiatives from all projects within that scope, giving you a unified view of strategic work happening across your portfolio. Use the project filter and scope toggle to narrow the view.

See Views and Filters for details.

Best Practices

  1. Create initiatives from audit insights — this preserves the data context
  2. Score every initiative with RICE before starting work
  3. Link initiatives to objectives to maintain traceability
  4. Review the roadmap weekly to update statuses and re-prioritize
  5. Use the priority view to decide what to work on next
