Understand How Google Sees Your Website
Pull search performance data from Google Search Console into Evergreen to correlate keywords, clicks, impressions, and indexation status with your content structure. Discover exactly where search opportunity meets content reality.

What you get
Keyword-to-Page Mapping
See which queries drive impressions and clicks to each page, then cross-reference with content health scores to find optimization opportunities.
Click-Through Rate Analysis
Identify pages with high impressions but low CTR — prime candidates for title tag and meta description rewrites that Evergreen's audit already flags.
Indexation Visibility
Surface pages that Google has excluded from its index alongside the crawl issues Evergreen detects, so you can fix the root cause instead of chasing symptoms.
How It Works
Evergreen connects to the Google Search Console API to import search performance data and map it directly onto the pages in your project. Every URL Evergreen crawls gets matched to its corresponding Search Console metrics, creating a unified view of how your content performs in organic search.
The integration pulls query-level and page-level data, so you can see both the keywords a page ranks for and the aggregate search metrics at the directory and section level. When combined with Evergreen's crawl-based content health scores, you get a complete picture: what Google thinks about your pages and what your pages actually look like under the hood.
Setup Steps
- Open your project settings and navigate to the Integrations tab.
- Click "Connect Google Search Console" and authenticate with the Google account that owns or has access to the relevant Search Console property.
- Select the property that matches your project's domain (Evergreen will suggest the best match based on your crawl URL).
- Choose your date range — last 7, 28, or 90 days — to control the reporting window.
- Data syncs automatically. Your sitemap and audit views will populate with search metrics within moments.
The connection uses OAuth 2.0 with read-only scopes. Evergreen never modifies your Search Console data or submits anything on your behalf.
What Data You Get
Once connected, Evergreen surfaces the following Search Console data across your project:
- Queries (Keywords) — The search terms that triggered impressions for each page, along with their position, clicks, impressions, and CTR.
- Page-Level Clicks and Impressions — Total organic search traffic and visibility per URL, rolled up by directory and section.
- Average Position — Track where each page ranks in Google's results for its associated queries.
- Click-Through Rate (CTR) — Calculated per page and per query, making it easy to spot pages where a better title or description could unlock more traffic.
- Indexation Status — See which pages Google has indexed, which it has discovered but not indexed, and which it has excluded entirely.
Evergreen normalizes this data against your crawled site structure, so even URLs that appear in Search Console but were not found during the crawl are flagged for investigation.
Why It Matters
Search Console data answers the question: "How does Google see my site?" Evergreen's crawl data answers the question: "What does my site actually look like?" Combining them reveals gaps that neither tool surfaces on its own.
Find High-Impression, Low-CTR Pages
Pages earning thousands of impressions but few clicks are often one title tag rewrite away from a traffic boost. Evergreen's content audit already evaluates title tags and meta descriptions for length, uniqueness, and keyword presence — so when you spot a low-CTR page, the fix is usually waiting for you in the audit recommendations.
Diagnose Indexation Problems at the Source
Search Console tells you a page is "Discovered — currently not indexed," but it does not tell you why. Evergreen can. By correlating indexation status with crawl depth, internal link count, canonical tags, and content quality scores, you can identify the structural reasons Google is ignoring certain pages — and fix them systematically instead of one URL at a time.
Correlate Keywords with Content Health
A page ranking on the edge of page one for a valuable keyword deserves more attention than a perfectly healthy page targeting a query nobody searches for. The Search Console integration lets you prioritize content improvements by actual search demand, ensuring your editorial resources go where they generate the most return.
Fuel Smarter Content Audits
Search Console data feeds directly into Evergreen's audit scoring. Pages are evaluated on both their technical content health and their organic search performance, producing recommendations that balance SEO opportunity with content quality.
Your website's search performance data is too valuable to live in a silo. Connect Search Console to Evergreen and see your organic search landscape mapped onto the content that powers it.
