Connect GA4 for traffic insights and performance data
Connect your Google Analytics 4 property to see traffic data correlated with your content audit and sitemap.
Connecting GA4
- Go to your project's Connections page
- Click Connect next to Google Analytics 4
- Sign in with your Google account
- Select the GA4 property to connect
- Evergreen will begin importing your analytics data
What Data Is Imported
Evergreen imports the following metrics for each page:
- Sessions — Number of sessions including the page
- Users — Unique users who visited the page
- Pageviews — Total page views
- Average engagement time — How long users spend on the page
- Bounce rate — Percentage of single-page sessions
- Conversions — Event completions (if configured)
How Data Is Used
Once connected, GA4 data appears throughout Evergreen:
- Content Audit — Traffic columns added to the audit table
- Visual Sitemap — Nodes show traffic indicators
- Insights — Traffic-based recommendations (declining pages, high-bounce pages)
- Page Details — Full traffic breakdown on individual page views
Data Freshness
Analytics data is synced based on your plan:

Note: Evergreen only requests read-only access to your analytics data. We never modify your GA4 configuration.
