Connect GA4 for traffic insights and performance data

Connect your Google Analytics 4 property to see traffic data correlated with your content audit and sitemap.

Connecting GA4

  1. Go to your project's Connections page
  2. Click Connect next to Google Analytics 4
  3. Sign in with your Google account
  4. Select the GA4 property to connect
  5. Evergreen will begin importing your analytics data

What Data Is Imported

Evergreen imports the following metrics for each page:

  • Sessions — Number of sessions including the page
  • Users — Unique users who visited the page
  • Pageviews — Total page views
  • Average engagement time — How long users spend on the page
  • Bounce rate — Percentage of single-page sessions
  • Conversions — Event completions (if configured)

How Data Is Used

Once connected, GA4 data appears throughout Evergreen:

  • Content Audit — Traffic columns added to the audit table
  • Visual Sitemap — Nodes show traffic indicators
  • Insights — Traffic-based recommendations (declining pages, high-bounce pages)
  • Page Details — Full traffic breakdown on individual page views

Analytics data is synced based on your plan:

Note: Evergreen only requests read-only access to your analytics data. We never modify your GA4 configuration.
